Viji goes for a make-over

Has Vijayalakshmi gone for an image make-over? The girl, who made a name for herself playing the girl-next-door in films like Chennai-600028 and Anjathey, has suddenly cooled off towards her friends and media. They say that she is inaccessible to those who were once close to her. The reason it seems is that she has become the superstar’s heroine in sultan the variyar, an animation film. And as per the contract with the producers, she is not allowed to speak to the media. But the grapevine has it that it got to her head that she has replaced Ileana and is playing heroine to the superstar even if it is an animation film! At the pooja launch of Jai’s Aval Peyar Tamilarasi, she looked totally different in her new avatar— a western outfit and coloured hair, contrary to the simple and homely looks she had. She is also the heroine of Jai’s next film Adhey Neram Adhey Idam. A little birdie tells us that Viji is desperately trying to look glamorous at functions, as somebody advised her that in Kollywood, the shortcut to the top is to take the glam route!
