Missing Kollywood star Kanaga resurfaces
Sunday, February 7, 2010
Popular Kollywood actor Kanaga, who went missing for the last couple of days to trace her 'missing' husband Muthukumar, resurfaced today and alleged that a woman had kidnapped her spouse.
In a brief chat with reporters, Kanaga, daughter of yesteryear actress Devika, said ''Aavi'' Amutha, who had introduced Muthukumar, a US-based Mechanical Engineer, to her had allegedly kidnapped him.
Ms Kanaga, who has starred in hit films like ''Karakattakaran'' with Ramarajan and 'Adhisaya Piravi' opposite Tamil Superstar Rajnikanth came to know of Amutha, who was nicknamed ''Aavi'' Amutha for her superstitious act of talking with ''Aavi'' (Ghost), through Muthukumar's friend Arunkumar.
After Amutha arranged a meeting between Kanaga and Muthukumar, they decided to marry and the wedding took place in April 2007, Kanaga said.
She claimed that after the marriage, Muthukumar lived with her for only 15 days before he went missing three years ago. He was last seen with a film financier Ansari.
She said when she contacted Amutha, the latter pleaded innocence and denied that she had ever met a person called Muthukumar.
Sensing something fishy, Kanaga has now decided to lodge a complaint with the police after contacting her in-laws.
